Personal goals....

Personal goals are something many of us set.....but some of us never follow through, I would know Im that kind of person :) I figured I dont blog "personally" much anymore, but want too. So Im thinking I should use this as my goal journal! Things I want to do.....
1. Work on my spirituality. I have a testimony and know the gospel is true, and have a great faith in my savior, sometimes I feel that I dont do the things I promised him.
2. Work on my inner self. How can one work on there outerself if they cannot love who they are on the inside? Im working on not placing judgment on anyone before i know them regardless. Im also working on yoga 3 times a week to both cleanse myself mentally and physically.
3. Spend more quality time with my family. This means that I have to make business goals. I have to make a work schedule and stick to it, no matter what. Its not fair to do that to my family so photography goals are a comin!
4. Work on my "sacred heart" I have always wanted to do something in my life and feel more than ever now, that this is one of my many missions. Hopefully I can explain more about this in detail soon.

Anyways its nice to have goals and I encourage everyone out there to set goals and better yet why not do it in writing :)

Things are crazy round here! Unfortunately the family blog lacks when things are busy, which is sad because thats the most important thing, my family :) We have sheetrock in part of our basement yay! We still have to do the ceiling but its a start! So here are some pics of the sheetrock and a recent outing i had with brenley she just loves rainboots seriously it was funny because last summer she would wear them with shorts ha! She is a riot.

Ive been missing in action sheesh!!!!! So lets see all the fun informative stuff.....

Mckenna: she is doing well, getting ready for soccer, does really well in school and is overall a great kid, she is such a helper :)

Brayden: Lost his two front teeth prematurely....I cant imagine that had anything to do with his 2 year old sisters amazing right hook, does well in school, and is way excited for baseball signups.

Brenley: well shes another sort.....loves using the word "what" 90 times a day, thinks she doesnt need a big girl bed even with spongebob sheets that her mommy and daddy's bed is just fine for her, and is thinks the potty is bad (yay for us blah)

Emil is currently unemployed (thank you economy) and is enjoying actually seeing his kids now and is focusing 100% on school right now. I am still doing photography and the home thing :) Ill try to contribute to this blog more, I know its missed me :)

Some fun things.....My dad always told me if I believe enough in something I would bet the farm for it, well considering Emil is unemployed now and we are living on my photography I figured okay nows the time so Im betting the farm and we are slowly but surely finishing our basement for my studio!!!! Im so excited but feel i need to be professional have a place to do my work indoors when needed. So Ill document some pictures of that :) Im also offering two kinds of photo jewelry for photography but I would sell them alone too, its easy to slide your very own picture in them way cute anyways thats our update :) Bloggie Ive missed you and will try to come back at least weekly :)

I hope everyone had a great christmas! I have lots of photos to post of course but I had to blog about this while it was still fresh. Brenley was so excited yesterday, she didnt realize until she woke up and came out that santa had come. We asked her who brought this and she replied, "Tanta." she cracks me up. So this morning she wakes up her daddy and says, "Daddy Daddy, Tanta. Toys!" Then proceeds to drag him out to our family room, where she was immediately saddened that he had not brought her more toys. I love kids, they are so innocent! I love it!

Well we FINALLY got our Christmas tree up and the decorating almost complete, although I have a lot on my part to do still and yes our house is a rotten nightmare!!!! Boxes torn out everywhere tinsel on the floor ugh! I cant wait to be organized, but I do love to have all of the christmas decor out and have the feeling of christmas around me. I love it! So in light of that, you will notice throughout the next few weeks you will see many things I love about Christmas :)

I wanted to take a moment to tell everyone happy thanksgiving! I dont want this to turn into a cliche post but i did want to list a few of the many things I am thankful for.....
Well of course my savior! He is at the top of my list :)
Family
Our health
Our home
My talent to be able to capture beautiful art for people
My husband (I wanted to do him seperate from family because he has gone through some hard times, well we both have but through it all he has stayed so strong, I know its hard for him it is for all of us, but I just am amazed at his strength, so I wanted him to know that :) )
My friends. Especially the ones who dont mind sharing their knowledge with me, that is priceless and sure does mean alot. Then there are those friends who have been there for me through thick and thin, and since I was in diapers, okay well maybe not that long lol but you get it!
Like many of my other peers financial times are tough, tougher than they have ever been, but I still have to say Im thankful that I am in my home, and will be enjoying a hot meal with the ones I love, okay well some of the ones I love, the others live in Idaho, and then a few ditched us to go to Idaho...oh well Ill catch you guys next year! And you mikesells and armstrongs? Dont think your getting off that easy, we will be there to torment you this holiday season :)
And I want to thank all of those that come to my blog to read about my family and my photography, it means a lot for people to come to me and trust me with their memories and that means a great deal to me!

I cant believe it I have a two year old!!! (again!) lol. I cant believe you are already two!!! I remember the first year of your life it was so difficult for you but now things are getting better and I couldnt enjoy your personality any more! You are very stubborn but you are also the class clown! You do the funniest things! I laugh on a daily basis at the new things you come up with. Yesterday you took a miniture skateboard (and yes im talking keychain size) and put it under one of your feet and skated around the kitchen. And who would have thought! you have never seen anyone skateboard!!!

You are so musically inclined i cant wait to see what you teach us in this upcoming year. Happy birthday baby! Or I should say little girl!

2 down 1 to go!!! Happy Birthday sweetheart!!! You are the big 9 today!!! I can remember like it was yesterday that you were born! All I can say is Mckenna loves art, school, friends and the Jonas Brothers. Im sure she loves way more than that too lol. McKenna is such a sweet kid, my husband had to interview her and I was amazed at her intelligence, she told my husband that it was hard to be 9 and he asked why and she said because its important that she be an excellent role model for her brother and sister because they look up to her. Im excited to be able to go shopping with her to buy some clothes, she got a lot of moula for her bday so it will be nice to spend some alone time with her. I love you Kenna!

I have to give a shot out to Heather Thompson! First off I LOVE my hair!!!!! It is so beautiful! Okay so if anyone is looking for a good local hairdresser (is that the proper term? lol) you need to check her out! She has a cute salon in her basement and its so quaint I love it! She is located in West Layton and has a blogsite on my bar to the right. Okay so this is what I loved about Heather, her talent, and her salon.
1. Its painted blue, okay lame I know but it was So.....relaxing :)
2. She is so nice to chat with! I didnt feel ackward at all!
3. She listens! WOW, she actually did my hair they way I wanted her too! lol
4. This is going to sound so bizarre but you know how most people use a dryer to set your color sometimes (or speed it up I should say?) she uses a steamer! It was so neat! I asked her why she did this and she said its because steam is less damaging to your hair, it in fact puts moisture back in! (I hope I said that right)
5. Okay ladies, you know that hair product she was raving about as her favorite and giving away? She is totally right!!! It works and not a greasey area on my hair in sight (and yes this is the morning after) Its so soft!
6. She cuts hair amazingly! I mean seriously I have the wildest hair and its cut and shaped beautifully!
and drumroll please........
IT DIDNT BREAK THE BANK!!!! She was so reasonably priced I was amazed!!!! So make sure next time you need to get beautified you call Heather!

Oh my! My baby boy is turning 6!!!!! Its really kind of sad because he is my only boy! So when he grows and grows I cant help but think what life will be like when my youngest grows and grows! The thought of know toddler talk and the excitement of learning new things. Brayden is such a good kid too, he is my mellow child, very laid back and accomodating. Here are a few things about Brayden!

Favorite Color: Blue (ha go figure lol)

Favorite shows: Spongebob, tom and jerry, scooby doo

Favorite things to do: Draw, play his nintendo ds and wii lol he actually rocks at guitar hero, and rockband he does pretty well at!

Um sheesh I just dont even know what to write about him!!! He is just a sweet all around genuine kid and melts my heart. He is a true gentleman and the thing that makes me laugh is how he interacts with his sisters. He has a great bond with both of them but he is more of a "protector" over brenley because she is his little sister. Every day when we go and pick him up from Kindergarten he gets a sticker and brenley screams in excitement and yells "beau!" and he gives her his sticker and she laughs and says "sticker, sticker!" Its so sweet, he only gets one sticker usually and he always gives it to her. I really couldnt be more proud of the man he is becoming. Happy Birthday buddy, we all love you so much and are so proud of you!!!

I will definitely post pictures tomorrow of him and his presents and cake with his family.

Freezer Stencil shirts

WARNING: I am not a product photographer lol so please ignore my pictures :D

I have been wanting to try it out, and I finally Did!!! Freezer stencil shirts! They were so easy too I had fun, I still have to do Brenleys though but I did my niece one and another gal for her bday I hope they like them? Oh and to add the snowmans black lines are really straight its the fact that the shirt is wrinkled....enjoy! In case you would like to try this at home (i.e. Annie lol) here are the instructions :)

1 Roll Freezer paper (by ziploc bags) it will go a long way too!

Fabric paint in whatever colors (i just bought mine at wally world :)

sponge brushes

Draw or trace a design on the freezer paper (waxey side down) so make sure you are drawing on the non waxey side of the paper

Preheat your iron to cotton/wool setting

Cut out your design using an exacto knife (works best) now your paper looks like a stencil

Then place the waxey side of the paper against the shirt fabric and iron it on. Then take your fabric paint and sponge brushes and color your shirts, let dry then peel paper away! Its that easy! If anyone is confused Ill make sure I do a step by step with brenleys shirt :)

Brenley's First Dentist Appointment

So Brenley had her first Dentist appt on Thursday. We got there and she loved playing with the school bus and my older kids loved playing the wii (even though we have one lol) She hung out with her brother and she watched him get his teeth brushed and thought nothing of it, then it was her turn....from the pictures you will notice she didnt like to be held down with a stranger looking in her mouth. I did have to say that I really liked Dr. Steve Hibbert (sp?) from Atlantis Dental in Syracuse, anyways he was super nice, and very accomodating. So anyone that needs a good dentist check him out! Ok so Ann tagged me and this one is different from the other ones lol so Im participating lol.
1. Did you date someone from your school? Yep I did, but only for a year then technically they werent in my school lol.
2. What kind of car did you drive? My mom's red Subaru then I bought a civic.
3. Did you pass your driver's license test on the first try? Really? Do we need to dig so deep? Lets just say I have yet to get a ticket ;) Knock on wood!
4. Were you a party animal? Nope, not at all, weird I know lol.
5. Were you considered a flirt? A little I guess, lets just say I was always friendly(not that kind of friendly...) but I always got a long better with guys then girls, I mean less drama!
6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Nope.
7. Were you a nerd? No, but I did have some friends that were. I didnt consider myself a nerd or way popular I guess I was just average. Ugh do i hate that word "average" now I try to be all but average weird how things change out of high school eh?
8. Were you on any varsity teams? No unless "sluffing" was a team. (ha! That was funny Ann)
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Never got suspended or expelled but I did have A LOT of U's to work off :)
10. Can you still sing the fight song? I don't think I could have sang it even WHEN I was in High School
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Mrs. Jones she just had such an open heart and was such a genuine person
12. Where did you sit during lunch? hmm not really sure it differed either I had work release or I was eating at some fast food place lol
13. What is your schools full name? Bountiful High School
14. School mascot and colors? A Brave and red/white/grey
15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? Nope, sad I know, I should have been more involved.
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Of course not!!! I enjoyed the learning experiences and all and I definitely will encourage my children to be more involved.
17. What do you remember most about graduation? Ha! Should we really ask this? Okay for those of you who didnt know I got pregnant my senior year! So I did graduate but didnt go to graduation, should I parade my belly? Lol but Im glad I met my husband because if it wasnt for him and our daughter I wouldnt be where Im at today!
18. Where did you go senior skip day? I dont think I even participated there I go again not involved lol.
19. Were you in any clubs? Eek! Seriously I sound like a loser, no no clubs either!
20. Have you gained some weight since then? A little more after I quit nursing! Maybe 15lbs which I would LOVE to get rid of. Kacee are you moving out here yet to motivate me?
21. Who was your prom date? Oh sheesh, take a wild guess...did I go to prom?
22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Well lets see my ten year is next year I probably wont go unless I go with a group of the girls from my school...any takers? lol
23. Did you have a job while in high school? Ha! Seriously how embarassing yes I had a few....KFC, Willey Ford, and Kmart!

So Im just so irritated for my oldest daughter. If anyone has a daughter, Im sure you can relate....I know everyone goes through this, I mean i went through this but man I wish I could make it stop. Its so frustrating. So you know, the so called popular girl, usually mean, snobbish, and says rude things (seriously how does this make anyone popular) goes up to my daughter today and asks her if she got a part in the school play (this is by audition) McKenna replies along with her friend, no we didnt get a part and the girl goes thats okay they will probably give you some stupid part to make you feel better! I know not way rude right? but when you are in third grade it hurts. I just wish some people were more in tune with their childrens behaviors and maybe one day we can make this come to an end, and why does it seem to only generate with girls? Ugh, Im so not ready for this preteen crap! Nuff said.....but on the flip side, if I hadnt battled this behavior when I was growing up I wouldnt be the person I am today. Honestly I think it really molded me as a person and how I want to raise my children with morals and values. Anyways now Im rambling..I swear one day I will post something worth reading, until then my pictures are great eye candy ;)

Okay so Ive felt something lacking in my life, I know crazy right? One morning I was thinking to myself man I wish I could just run. Run away from my problems, run away from daily life, just run! Which brought this next thought into my head....

okay okay back on topic, I feel like I want to get in shape, not necessarily loose weight, but get in shape and have some time away from the kids doing something I think could be a great stress releaser. I know what your thinking, its almost winter...really is this a great time to start? Well yes it is! So Im going to start running anyone that wants to join in I would love to hear you blog all about it! Any tips on getting started, things you cant live without or any other tips would be greatly appreciated, I say try something at least once, here is my start to running, lets see if it takes me to a 10k!

I wish: my hubby could find a job he truly enjoyed with normal business hours and decent pay, anyone?
I hate: putting away the laundry absolutely HATE it!
I miss: life being back to normal, but I guess Id rather live a rollercoaster then a mary-go-round (did I even spell that right?)
I fear: losing a loved one (I almost don't even dare say it)
I feel: Excited to take on new ventures making things and hopefully seeing my photography business grow and be able to offer my clients unique things!

Braydens first week at school....

Well we are all adjusting okay I suppose, its killing me going to school 3 times a day for my kids and in between driving to school 3 times a day I am feeding the herd, I feel like between cleaning, feeding, and driving I get NOTHING done!!! I started school Monday and Emil started last week and things are crazy!!! I have not even cracked open my book, just watched my post mortem video, tell you what they need to get better graphics Its like watching a blob being disected lol. Braydens first week at school was all in all good, he likes it, he made new friends but this kid says the darndest things!!! The teacher told the class to put there heads down yesterday and he didnt, so this boy next to him said "put your head down" Brayden then replies "make me" then Brayden proceeded to tell me that he is a strong little boy lol! Where do kids come up with this stuff!!! Anyways since I cant leave without a pic, here is one of my boy (with my new beadboard in studio, in progress....more to come! Im knitting hats for my kids for there fall pics, then I am knitting a newborn hat with ear flaps so pics and stuff to come!!! We are so artsy here I think I will post some art stuff too, Im making my girls halloween costumes so I will post that and what I did to make them if anyone is interested....

Well if you know Brenley, then this following post will not surprise you one bit. For those who dont know Brenley, have you seen Parenthood? Well if so you know Gills youngest son? Blond curly hair likes to bang his head into things? Well thats our brenley, she loves hats, wearing baskets as hats, and dancing, I swear this is all this child does, oh wait, she likes to color, and on everything she shouldnt color on!
Oh and a picture wouldnt be complete unless we got woody wearing the same hat. She loves woody, dances around with him (swings him by the arms) just like Andy does. Oh and I must take a picture of her one legged baby she adores and man this baby is so beat up I tell you its crazy, but she sure does love her lol.

McKenna is in third grade this year, got a foxey haircut and thinks she is a new woman (okay I can relate lol) Brayden (my only boy sniff sniff) is starting in Kindergarten he was so excited!!!! My kids go to the charter school hence why they are in uniform, here are some pics of my little, big kids :( I have a feeling little brenley is going to be sad today...

The other night my son and I were sitting here, everyone else was busy so it was just him and I in our family room, he was walking from the kitchen into the family when he said this:
Brayden: mom, your baby is an artist
Me: Why do you say that?
Brayden: because she drew a masterpiece on the back of the couch with crayons.
Me: *sigh...

He is so funny though, he always refers to brenley as my baby rather than her name, his sister, anything he always says your baby lol
And yes Brenley is going ot be an artist, she loves to draw on the couch, the hardwood floors, the bathtubs yep a true artist making lemonade out of lemons!

Sheesh, things are crazy around our household. Im watching a little boy who is 5, one of braydens friends m,w,th, and f. Then I have my army of kids, and photography, things are getting crazy lol. I have been knitting some hats in my spare time (ha I know what spare time right?) I tried a few basic newborn ones to make sure I could even do it lol, and I posted some on my photog blog of a gorgeous newborn modeling them http://www.photosbymarissa.blogspot.com/ now Im on to more complex things, I want to try a few newborn stocking caps, and then earflap ones and scarves. Anyone who knows me I get stuck on something and then have to over do it lol then i move on to something else although photography has stuck lol. Our kids are good just getting ready to go back to school!!! I hope everyone else is doing well!

Im not sure how many valued readers I have on my "personal" blog but I wanted to have a shot out to all the shoppers out there. So since school is getting ready to start soon lets talk about school shopping. Would anyone like to share there favorite shopping places for girls and boys of all ages? My kids are fortunate enough to go to a charter school with uniforms, this poses good and bad things. The good thing is they all wear the same things! The bad thing is that I have to buy two sets of clothes!!!! One for school and one for fall :( Anyways I always love hearing about where people like to shop and find good deals please leave me some info in the comments :)

well miss brenley is HUGE for her age and wears a 3t-4t so I love old navy, childrens place, and have been on a huge mervyns kick, but only sprockets brand.
Brayden I love to go to kohls because he likes the tony hawk stuff but I also like childrens place and old navy, and last but not least...
McKenna, i have a really hard time with her, she is just at that in between stage where i cant find anything that fits! She fits very well into justice and limited too, but honestly they dont fit too well in my wallet. I think I will start making clothes :)

Okay today Im going to talk to you about etsy. I cannot tell you how much I absolutely heart etsy! I wish I was half as crafty as some of these people, I mean amazing! If you are ever looking for handcrafted items always look at etsy! A lot of sellers are moms making extra money which I can totally relate too, so I like to support them. I buy a lot of my photography stuff off of etsy. There are tutus, clothes, hats I mean everything!!! check them out....

Celebrating the fourth....

Well we had a great fourth of July. The kids had a few of their friends over and it was so nice, these kids are so well behaved and have the same personalities as my three and they play so well together! We had a bbq, had fireworks and I attempted firework pictures :) Im always trying something new lol. All in all we had a great fourth of July! Brenley absolutely LOVES snaps, and fireworks, she is constantly laughing when she hears the fireworks go off, which is odd because all of our other kids always cried, heck I think they still do ;) McKenna is getting older now *sniff, sniff* so she loves to light smoke bombs and stuff. Anyways here are some pics!

Ha, now this video game must be off right? Lol. okay so I am 5'6" 122 lbs(i think its sensor is broken lol) and with my balancing (or lack thereof) my adjusted wii fit age is....drumroll please.....29!Okay so off by two years not to shabby, my sons (who is 5) was off by 19 lol it said he was 24 *snicker* anyways so Im going to start by practicing my balancing and posture and did I mention I heart yoga? even if it is on the wii :)

Okay so this is the thing....ever since I stopped nursing my daughter I have packed on the pounds! Of course in all the wrong areas! Lost weight up top, gained weight in my thighs and waist...hmmm... doesnt seem fair. So I thought hey nows the time to change this! Well I dont have much time to get out of the house, all though I must say I heart yoga :) So I saw and ad for wii fit (yep santa brought us a wii for christmas) so I thought to myself I must have one!!! I know what you are all thinking, how lazy am I to work out to a video game he he. Well im going to try it out and be the harshest critic! And the best part you ask? I am going to blog all of it!!!! So tomorrow I will be posting my stats (bmi, wii age etc) then Im going to set my goals and post my progress online. So lets see, can a video game really get you fit? Well thats the million dollar question!

Okay so I have a photography blog but not a family blog so I figured since this is the way everyone keeps in touch, Id better get on it! So this is all about our family. I met my husband in high school, and we basically have been together ever since. We have been married 9 years this month! Wow, let me take a breath.... okay we have three kids, which you will probably see plastered all over my photography blog, but Ill see if I can scrap up some pictures this week of them :) Hopefully all together ha! McKenna is 8, Brayden is 5, and Brenley is 18 months, and they were all born in October, sheesh.... Right now Im a Jill of all trades, stay at home mom, Student at Weber State, and Photographer. We have a house in Syracuse with two dogs, and lots of koi fish. Well I guess thats enough about me :) Ill try to post on here so those of you that actually read this *snicker* can read about the funny things and drama that surround our life we call a three ring circus!
